Qualifying & Race Format
For safety & comfort, Qualifying is held on the SPRINT CIRCUIT and the scratch races run in order on the Sprint, Clubman, Sportsman and National circuits. In other words the races get longer as the day progresses. The final race of the day is a 7 lap Handicap Race on the National circuit.

Invited Groups		(e.g Group N, etc) are groups that bought their own slots or people that want to have their own group of at least 18 cars. Invited groups must be scheduled into the program at least six weeks before the event date. We can usually take a few extra cars if we are notified on the Saturday before the event during the TopGear Sprint or General Practice sessions. Sorry, but Sunday morning entries are too disruptive.

Event Schedule
6.30am - Arrive and unload, ready to complete any paperwork necessary
7.00am - up to scrutineering
7.45am - New drivers Safety Briefing (first time racers)
8.00am ­ Attend the Drivers Briefing where the NEW rolling start procedure will be presented
8.30am - Qualifying commences with 10 minutes per group
9.30am - Scratch races begin in the order shown above and the final race of the day is the Handicap Race. That is right, you get to run in Five RACES between 09:30 and about 4:30 – providing you look after your car and you’re up to it! Bring plenty of petrol and don’t even think about changing ratios.
Car sharing is easy. We time the car and not the driver so you can have your own arguments about who did what and how fast – who qualifies is up to you! The second driver entry costs $60 (please fill in second entry form and mark as second driver).
Some RACE NUMBERS May be duplicated and have to be changed. Please help in this matter. QR has a limited supply of numbers you can borrow.

Licence Requirements
ROOKIE RACERS This series was built for you. If this is your first race meeting and you have a Clubman Licence but don’t have an AASA National Race licence we will issue you a $50 day licence to see if you like racing. You must attend the 7:45 Safety Briefing and you should have participated in five or more QR Sprints. If you’ve raced before , or been observed with six consistently fast laps during the qualifying session you will qualify for a day or annual National Race licence too. Call us the day before to and we will brief you on the full process. TopGear is NOT a CAMS sanctioned event but we will accept CAMS Circuit Competition licences.

Trophies & Awards
TopGear is about Recreational Racing NOT Formula 1. It’s the meet to learn, practice & enjoy motorsport. That’s why we only do trophies for the Handicap Race at the end of the day. We try to ensure everybody has an equal chance of taking home a winner’s trophy. For this kind of Recreational Racing it’s better and fairer than the usual podium, after all what chance does a TranzAm have against a Gemini?
